20 ноября в северном штате Интдии Уттар-Прадеш с рельсов сошел поезд, в котором находилось около 500 человек. В результате катастрофы погибли, по меньшей мере, 133 индийца.

Сейчас экстренные службы ищут тела погибших в последнем из 14 вагонов, сошедших с рельсов. «Там, возможно, находятся 7 или 8 тел», — сказал офицер местной полиции Амит Чаутхари.

Как отмечает Reuters, из-за износа железнодорожной инфраструктуры подобные аварии не являются редкостью для Индии. По данным ряда экспертов, сообщает агентство, до 2020 года индийской железной дороге требуются инвестиции в почти 300 млрд долларов, которых у нынешнего правительства нет.
