Убит на посту. В Москве простились с Андреем Карловым

22 декабря состоялось прощание и похороны российского посла в Турции Андрея Карлова, который был убит в Анкаре 19 декабря.

Церемония прощания и отпевания прошла в Храме Христа Спасителя. Траурный обряд провел Патриарх Кирилл. Проститься с Карловым приехали президент РФ Владимир Путин, премьер-министр Дмитрий Медведев, спикер Госдумы Вячеслав Володин, спикер Совета Федерации Валентина Матвиенко и другие высокопоставленные должностные лица.

После прощания и отпевания посол был похоронен на Химкинском кладбище в Москве.

Андрей Карлов был убит на открытии фотовыставки в Анкаре 19 декабря. Стрелка, который был сотрудником полиции, уничтожили в результате спецоперации. В МИД РФ сразу назвали произошедшее терактом. По мнению президента РФ Владимира Путина, это убийство направлено на срыв нормализации российско-турецких отношений и мирного урегулирования в Сирии.

Позже стало известно, что стрелявший в посла мужчина является выпускником полицейской академии в Измире Мевлютом Мертом Алтынташем. Ранее он восемь раз участвовал в охране мероприятий, на которых присутствовал президент Турции Реджеп Эрдоган.
